Preliminary drawings, Floor plans & Blueprints
All remodeling projects require a set of blueprints (plans) or scaled drawings specific to your property. You cannot use another set from the neighbors that have the same floorplan as you or the original set from the builder. You have to have your own made by a builder like OC PLAN DESIGNER (A division of Remodels Ink) who provides this service.
The following are examples of the types of drawings you will need to submit to your city for a permit. This does not represent a full set of blueprints (plans).
*Blueprints (plans) 6 months or older may not be considered acceptable to your building department. You will need to verify this before submittal.

Preliminary Drawing
Rough measurements are transferred onto paper and a scale drawing is made. This is for space planning and bidding purposes only. No construction should be done from this drawing.
Site Plan
SHOWS THE OUTLINE OF YOUR PROPERTY, SETBACKS AND FLOORPLAN OF YOUR HOME. IT WILL ALSO SHOW ANY ADDITIONAL SQUARE FOOTAGE THAT YOU MAY BE ADDING .
Elevation
SHOWS THE EXTERIOR OF YOUR HOME. THERE WILL BE A PAGE FOR EACH VIEW OF YOUR HOME IN A FULL SET OF BLUEPRINTS (PLANS). SUCH AS: NORTH, SOUTH, EAST AND WEST ELEVATIONS.
Floorplan
THE "MAP" OF YOUR HOME. REMODELING WORK SUCH AS THE REMOVAL OF OR ADDITION OF WALLS WILL BE SHOWN ON YOUR FLOORPLAN AS WELL AS ANY CHANGES YOU ARE MAKING IN THE SPACE. EVERYTHING MUST BE SHOWN PER CURRENT BUILDING CODES.
